Shabbat Shalom from Camp Solomon Schechter!

As opening day of camp approaches (the head staff arrive in less than a week!), I want to share a few of the new things coming to Camp this summer, specifically in the area of teva (nature).

We are making a major change in the way river trips are run for Gimmel session!  All of our 8-9th graders will go on an out-of-camp overnight, where they will bond as a group, make delicious food, do a tikkun olam (repairing the world) project and generally have a great time.  Additionally, we are extending our 10th grade trip from one to two days!

We are also excited to offer more outdoor life skills, including chuggim (activities) in Aleph and Bet sessions related to tikkun olam. Campers will learn age-appropriate outdoor skills, such as safe fire-building, cooking on a fire, setting up tents, safely using cooking stoves and more!

Innovative changes changes are happening in our sport and omanut (arts) programs, too!  Details are coming soon.

B’Shalom!
