Camp Solomon Schechter is very excited to announce that Executive Director Sam Perlin has been accepted as a Chazon Fellow.

The Chazon Fellowship, based upon their promotional materials, ” is a professional development program to help your senior camp leadership develop an engaging and immersive Israel education experience for your campers and staff, one that can be implemented seamlessly into the broader mission of your camp.

The year-long program will comprise three, three-day retreats in the U.S. as well as an eight-day seminar in Israel that will coincide with JAFI’s training seminar for first-time shlichim.  Because each retreat builds on the learning from the prior retreat, attendance at each retreat is mandatory.  Each participant will be guided throughout the program by a Jewish educator with a rich camping background, who will act as mentor and work together to develop a plan for each camp’s education environment.”
