Gesher Beat: The Dead Sea!

After Masada and Ein Gedi  we headed across the street to the Dead Sea. The sun was blazing (we were wearing sunscreen, of course) as we entered the sea. In the short amount of time we were there I can say that it was one of the most relaxing experiences I’ve had on this trip. The water was the perfect temperature and so clear that I wanted to take a picture of it and make post cards to sell in the shuk. I loved looking at the mounds of salt rocks just below the water’s surface, but my feet did not appreciate its rigid edges. It was hard to adjust at first to being able to float, but once I acclimated to the water I was able to lay back and enjoy. After 20 minutes my cuts started to burn so I headed out and dried off on the beach. Then we went to Jerusalem!
