Today we woke up on Kibbutz Afik and headed out to visit a cemetery overlooking the Kinneret and Golan Heights where many famous, influential, as well as rich people, are laid to rest. We learned about many tombs there, including the one of Barel Katsinesh, his wife, and his mistress. We also learned about the strategic layout of all the tombs. From there we went to a nature reserve called Sachne. It was beautiful and had many pools of fresh water, where fish swam freely and the water was amazingly blue. We had two and a half hours to swim, tan and get ice cream; we all used the hours to their fullest potential! After that we changed into athletic gear and went to a community centre to learn some basic Krav Maga moves for defense against potential attackers. We had a one hour session with a trainer from the Israeli martial arts olympic team. We had a lot of fun and received watermelon at the end of the session for a job well done. We left the community center and came to our new kibbutz, located an hour from Tel Aviv, where we will be staying for the next two days. Today was a lot of fun and I had a great time!
