Shalom Bet and Oded Camper Horim (Parents)!
I am writing this e mail to let you know that all of the Bet chanichim (campers) have arrived at camp and all of the odedim are back! Everyone is safe and sound!
A special thank you to all of our Canadian families that followed patiently as we let you know about the bus tire blow out and repairs. The chanichim were so happy to get off the bus after being on the road for that long but their spirits were good! We had extra snacks waiting for them and I have apologized to the campers for this unexpected delay. The madrichim (counselors) on board did a great job of entertaining the chanichim on the side of the road! The Canadian oded bus was not delayed however and arrived to camp on time.
The sun has been shining brightly all day and it is supposed to be gorgeous for the next week. It’s a serious blessing to see smiling faces, hear lots of laughter and see the Bet campers running together in their packs like they do again here at Camp Solomon Schechter!
All campers have had their lice check, have enjoyed a snocone and have already played gaga, soccer, basketball and are reuniting with their old friends. They are touring camp now, meeting new friends and bonding with their madrichim and odedim. Tonight’s dinner is pizza and the evening program is chug skits and special 5th of July fireworks!
If you are expecting your child to get b’nai mitzvah tutoring while they are here, please make sure that you fill out the b’nai mitzvah tutoring form found in the Parents Center of the camp web site.
This year we will post all camp photos on our website ( www.campschechter.org), NOT on the Bunk1 website. You may access the photos by going to the Parents Center. We will try to get Bet photos posted later this evening, but there is no guarantee.
