We started out today in the Golan Heights, where we learned about the Six Day War, the Yom Kippur War, and all the conflicts between Israel and Syria. It was crazy to look out over the area and be so close to where the wars took place. Afterwards, we went to the Naot factory and everyone bought their own pair of shoes. Next, we had a great lunch by the Jordan river followed by rafting. The rafting was the one of the coolest things I have ever done! We were all splashing each other and having a blast. Then, we went on a bike ride around a lake. It was stunning! After a long but fun day we came back to the kibbutz and celebrated Molly Azose’s 18th birthday! She seemed really happy to be celebrating this milestone in Israel with her Schechter family.
