Camper Readiness Night

We’re hosting a virtual Camper Readiness Night on Sunday, January 26!

Join Assistant Director Ruthie Chaban and Mental Health Counselor Zach Snyder on Sunday, January 26 at 5:00 PM for a brief overview of life at camp, followed by a Q&A session. Together we’ll review questions such as:

  • How to know if a child is ready for Summer Camp?
  • How can campers advocate for themselves?
  • What are camp’s mission and values?
  • What is a typical day’s schedule at Summer Camp?
  • What is the camp food like?
  • How does camp accommodate special dietary needs?
  • How does camp communicate with parents?
  • How does camp collect and distribute medicine?
  • What should campers bring to Summer Camp?
  • How do camp and campers combat homesickness?
  • How does camp encourage camper independence?

This virtual program is intended for first-time campers, newly enrolled families, and anyone else interested in learning more about Camp Solomon Schechter. If that sounds like you, or anyone you know, please RSVP at the link below. You can also share this website with a friend who may be interested – we still have plenty of room in first session!
