Ages: Grades 8-11

Believe it or not, Tel Aviv has become one of the most important locations in the entire world for graffiti artists to share their creative work! Campers will explore this phenomenon and look at a number of the most prominent pieces of graffiti in the city to understand how they serve as a graphic look into Israeli society and culture today.

Ages: Grades 8-11

Despite its small size and disproportionate amount of security challenges, Israel has become a nation that not only has learned how to survive in the toughest of situations, but also how to thrive! Israel has become one of the world’s most important centers for innovation and invention, impacting the lives of millions of people around the world in ways countries many times bigger haven’t succeeded in doing. We will learn about the factors that led Israel to becoming the Start Up Nation and why this noble description ties in deeply to the Jewish concept of tikkun loan.

Ages: Grades 8-11

Israelis and tourists alike love spending time in the Golan Heights. Its beautiful nature, history, open space, and abundance of water all combine to make it a unique and special region of the country. But the fact that the Golan is even part of Israel is due to one man – Eli Cohen, Israel’s greatest spy ever.Learn the story of how one man penetrated the military and political hierarchy of Syria and gained access to secrets that allowed Israel to swiftly defeat the invading Syrian army on the Golan Heights in the 1967 Six-Day War. It is quite an incredible story!

You already know that you can eat your way through Israel, but did you know that you can learn about the colorful diversity of Israeli society through the Israeli cuisine? Campers will explore some of Israel’s most well-known, as well as lesser known, foods and learn the Jewish and Israeli story that is behind each bite!
