What an incredible week! So much joy, ruach, and action. From tubing down the river, playing hoops, 9-square, Talmud and tea, baking biscochos, the giant swing, making pita, a beautiful Kabbalat Shabbat, Yom Israel, volleyball, swimming across the lake, jumping off the high dive, the staff camper soccer game, rocking out with Ron, making bracelets, Jewmba, and painting canvases. Are you kidding me, Camp Solomon Schechter? This is the most magical place on earth! Our campus is a bustling epicenter where Jewish life thrives. I can tell how much you needed camp, how you’ve been craving being together – a safe place to be your authentic selves, to be Jewish, to build community, to double down on your identity.
This community is built on several key pillars: 1) kindness/chesed, 2) respect/kavod, 3) trust/bitachon. These pillars should be your guiding principles as we head into next week. This is why I love my job so much. Camp Solomon Schechter isn’t just any ordinary camp; it’s a culture, it’s a part of your DNA, it runs so deep that you want more and more. Camp Solomon Schechter is foundational, formational, and forever. I can’t believe we’re almost halfway through the second session. Live your best lives next week – go big before you have to go home.
