I would like to thank all of themishpachim (families), thehorim (parents), the chanichim(campers) and the tzevet (staff) for what was another great summer for Camp Solomon Schechter. The 59th Summer was one to remember! Matisyahu spent Shabbat at camp during Gimmel; we had our first Israel trip; we added even more fun stuff to do; and the program got even more interesting with Peulat Sababa (Jewish education). I hope the chanichimenjoyed the food service. I can't believe that it's over!
The camp is quiet again, but the ruach (spirit) is still alive, as it always is, from the residue of such action-packed summers. Toda Raba (Thank You) andKol Hakavod (Great Job) for sending your child to camp. It is proven that Jewish summer camp, like a trip to Israel, has a lasting effect on a child's Jewish identity. We had a ruach-filled summer, but I know that it was not all the stuff or the program that really made a difference; it was the people - your incredible children! Many great, new friendships were forged, and many great friendships were strengthened. For that, the Jewish people have been strengthened, and, for me, there is no greater feeling of satisfaction.
You will receive an email at the end of the month that explains next summer's sessions and dates. This year was amazing, and the buzz is loud and clear, so I recommend parents sign up for camp as soon as you get the information. Spots may fill up for next summer!
Yasher Koach (Way to go) to us all on our great CSS community. May the chanichim and the tzevet of summer 2012 go from strength to strength!
Warm wishes for a restful Shabbat,
