Please take a few minutes to fill out the 2008 Summer Camper Survey

Of every experience a child has, summer camp is one of the most rewarding and influential, with benefits that last a lifetime. A summer at camp raises self-confidence, builds decision-making skills, improves social skills, and enables a child to reach inside themselves and discover talents and abilities they never knew they had.

Jewish camping has been identified as one of the most important influences a child can have in building Jewish identity and commitment. In fact, studies show that a Jewish camp experience while young doubles the chances of having a strong Jewish identity as an adult.

At Camp Solomon Schechter we emphasize the values of tzedakah (charity), tikkun olam (repairing the world), and teva (nature) to create our ideal Jewish community.
